An Application of Supply Chain Management

Abstract

Supply Chain Management is the process that involves importing raw materials, manufacturing, order processing, and delivery to customers continuously and efficiently, along with creating good information and work flow of each unit to the entire organization. The flow of information also involves customers and suppliers. Supply Chain Management is essential for all firms because it enhances the organization’s ability to manage better by inventory reduction, productivity improvement, or waste reduction in the workplace. In addition, it promotes the growth of the business by enhancing new product development speed, increasing new market entry, enhancing customer satisfaction, ultimately to enhance the sustainability of the business. This article presents a case study of supply chain management in PTT Polymer Marketing Co., Ltd., and presents the results of problem analysis, and identifies the obstacles and the factors that contribute to the success of supply chain management.
