Organizational Innovation: Six Sixma Strategy Implementation In Aircraft Maintenance Process Improve

Abstract

Six Sigma strategies have been widely implemented by many organizations. Six Sigma strategy is one of the organizational innovations that enhances quality improvement and process improvement. This paper presents the industry report of implementing Six Sigma strategy in aircraft maintenance process improvement. Benefits, key success factors, and obstacles of strategy implementation are analyzed. From this case, major benefit of Six Sigma implementation includes reducing cycle time from 235 minutes to 160 minutes, or 32% cycle time reduction. Consequently, the process of urgent parts ordering can be performed within half a day. Key success factors are top management supports and project selection.
