Trin Thananusak, Dr.

Trin obtained a PhD from Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK in 2016. His doctoral research aimed to examine how organisations undergo organisational changes within a rapidly evolving business context and how organisational identities and statuses affect the strategic directions of organisations. A paper from his PhD thesis won Best Paper Award in Strategic Management at the 16th European Academy of Management Annual Meeting in June 2016.

Prior to his doctoral study, he obtained his BA in International Relations (First Class Honours with Gold Medal) in 2000 from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He was then awarded the Shell Centenary Scholarship to study for the Diploma in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. After completing his studies at Cambridge he worked in research and consulting in Thailand (at Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University and Fiscal Policy Research Institute) on various projects from national competitiveness (Prof. Michael E. Porter and the NESDB), cluster and SMEs development (Business Incubation system), commercialisation of research and intellectual property, to the performance evaluation and business model restructuring of state enterprises.

From this professional background, Trin has developed a keen interest in the topic of innovation, change and small business management and intends to pursue a career in academia. He was awarded a Research Scholarship in 2008-10 from the National University of Singapore to study a research Master's in Sociology. Trin, subsequently, pursued an MPhil in Innovation, Strategy & Organisation prior to commencing his doctoral research in Management Studies at the Cambridge Judge Business School with the support of the Cambridge Thai Foundation and the Cambridge Trust.
