Organizational Innovation: Case Example of Implementing Supply Chain Management Strategy in Unilever

Abstract

ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will be officially established by 2015 to solidify ASEAN’s business negotiating power through the community’s functioning as a single huge market and the world’s production base with sustainability. There will be huge business and market opportunities. There are three main objectives, including promotion of competitiveness, equal economic and social development, and integration with the global economy. It is now time for Thai entrepreneurs to adjust their international business plans and strategies, develop a network of strategic partners or business agreements within the region and stress the importance of market access. In the future ASEAN could be as competitive as the European Union. Therefore, Supply chain management strategy is considered as organizational innovation that promotes competitive advantage for organization within a changing business environment. This industrial report presents case examples of Unilever Thai Trading company, which successfully implemented supply chain management strategy. Difficulty, obstacles, and key success factors of implementing the supply chain organizational innovation are also reported.
