The objective of this article is to explain the 'telecare system for the elderly', which is one of the preferred innovative systems for elderly people in many developed countries. According to several telecare-related articles, this system improves elderly people's standards of living whilst reducing their healthcare costs.On the contary, obstacles to the system's implementation have been identified as related to both the service providers and the elderly. To minimize such obstacles, therefore, it is necessary that every aspect relating to all stakeholders be taken into serious consideration prior to implementing the telecare system.
