Organizational Innovation: Case Studies Of Supply Chain Management Strategy

Abstract

Supply chain management strategy is considered as organizational innovation that promotes competitive advantage for organization within a changing business environment. Not only does supply chain management strategy reduce cost in supply chain, but also improve overall operations to rapidly response to customer’s needs. This strategy can be applied to businesses comprising of input-process-output, which aim to bring supply to meet demand. This paper presents case examples of organizations in healthcare industry and airline industry, which successfully implemented supply chain management strategy. Difficulty, obstacles, and key success factors of implementing the supply chain organizational innovation are also reported.
