Healthcare operations management is an integration of scientific principles of management to efficiently deliver good care to patients. In present, many hospitals and healthcare organizations are under pressure as healthcare costs continue to rise. Several hospitals have implemented innovative operations strategies to cope with their complex operating issues. In this paper, we present healthcare operations management concepts together with case studies from three hospitals in Thailand, which have implemented different operations strategies. Detailed strategy implementation and benefits gained by each hospital are described.
