Dr. Kantabutra's Latest International Journal Publication on Healthcare Leadership

on .

A CMMU research report, entitled "Sustainable Leadership in a Thai Healthcare Services Provider", by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sooksan Kantabutra has been accepted for publication by International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance indexed in Scopus, the world's largest database of peer-reviewed literature. The report will appear in Volume 24, Issue 1.

The research investigates leadership practices of Theptarin Hospital, a leading endocrine care services provider in Thailand, using the Rhineland Sustainable Leadership model.  Findings indicate non-mainstream leadership elements that have helped the healthcare provider to maintain a leadership position in its market.  These elements are grouped into six core sets of practices: adopting a long-term perspective, management development, strong organizational culture, radical and incremental innovations, genuine social responsibility and ethical behavior.  Healthcare enterprises in Thailand and possibly in other Asian countries that wish to sustain their organizational success could adopt these practices to examine their own businesses, and adjust their practices to become more sustainable.

Counted toward the attainment of Mahidol University's vision of being ranked among the world's top 100 universities in the next two years, publication of this Scopus-indexed report comfirms CMMU's status as a leading business school in Asia.
