CMMU Faculty’s Research Publication on Technological Capability Assessment

on .

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nathasit Gerdsri and his master student, Mr. Poramet Eam-Urai, have recently published their research work in KMITT R&D Journal [Issue 32 (2-3) (2009) pp.268-284]. The content of this paper addresses the application of technology capability assessment framework which was customized for the industries driven by technical skills and expertise. A case example of Automotive Seat Manufacturing Industry was examined.

The assessment results of all selected firms are collectively analyzed to represent the level of technological capabilities of Thai automotive seat manufacturing industry. These findings highlight the unbalance between the level of technological and skills/expertise capabilities. The suggestions for improving technological capabilities and easing the limitations of the industry are also proposed in the paper. This research work is extended from Dr. Gerdsri’s Technology Capability Assessment Project for Thai Automotive Industry completed in 2007 under the support from Thailand National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). KMUTT R&D Journal is also on the list of Thailand Research Fund (TRF).
