CMMU Research on Sufficiency Economy Businesses at the International Conference on Exploring Leadership & Learning Theories in Asia

on .

Two CMMU research reports on roles of Sufficiency Economy in ensuring sustainable business success by CMMU PhD student Ms. Suparak Suriyankietkaew, and faculty members Dr. Pornkasem Kantamara and Assistant Professor Dr. Sooksan Kantabutra have been double-blind reviewed and accepted for presentation and publication in conference proceedings by the 2011 International Conference on Exploring Leadership and Learning Theories in Asia (ELLTA) to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in February 2011.  The two reports are as follow:
  • Exploring the Application of the Royal Philosophy of “Sufficiency Economy” in a Sustainable Community Enterprise in Thailand
  • An Asian Approach to Sustainable Leadership in the Fast Changing Telecom Industry: Application of the Royal Philosophy of "Sufficiency Economy"

The philosophy of Sufficiency Economy is bestowed upon the Thai people by H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej as a way of living/behaving.  It comprises three core components of moderation, reasonableness and resilience, and two underlying conditions of knowledge and morality.  The CMMU research reports explain how the three core components and two underlying conditions play their roles in sustainable enterprises.

ELLTA, a non-profit association based in Sweden, is a purely voluntarily initiative to explore theoretical contributions other than those coming from the western part of the world.  The acceptance of the CMMU reports is a good opportunity to share with scholars from other parts of the world the royal philosophy of Sufficiency Economy and its critical roles in ensuring long-term business success. CMMU is indeed a leading business school in Asia.
