A CMMU research report by Assistant Professor Dr. Sooksan Kantabutra has been accepted for publication by one of the world's top strategy journals, Strategy & Leadership.  According to its Editor, Strategy & Leadership takes pride in publishing "authoritative comment from the world's leading experts in corporate strategy and strategic management...the thoughts, advice and analysis of some of the world's current revolutionary thinkers".  Strategy & Leadership is consistently ranked among the top six strategic management journals in the world – (listed alphabetically) Long Range Planning, McKinsey Quarterly, Sloan Management Review, Strategy+Business, Strategy & Leadership, and Strategic Management Journal

The CMMU report, entitled Sustainable Leadership: A Thai Case of Kasikornbank, adopts Avery’s 19 sustainable leadership practices derived from Rhineland enterprises as a framework to examine business practices of Kasikornbank, one of Asia's best financial services institutions.  Six core sets of practices consistent with the 19 sustainable leadership practices are identified: a focus on long-term perspective, people priority, innovation, social responsibility, uncertainty and change, and ethical behavior.  These core themes sharply contrast with the prevailing Anglo/US business model of short-term maximization of profitability.  The paper concludes that Avery’s 19 Rhineland practices provide a framework applicable to enterprises in Thailand and possibly other Asian countries to evaluate their corporate sustainability.

Publication of this report confirms CMMU's status as a leading business school in Asia.
