CMMU Leadership Research Group at Institute for Sustainable Leadership Symposia in Barcelona, Spain

Three CMMU research reports have been blind-reviewed and accepted for presentation and publication in conference proceedings at Institute for Sustainable Leadership Symposia, European Academic Conference in Barcelona, Spain between June 6 and 7.

The first report entitled "Examining Relationships between Organic Leadership and Corporate Sustainability: A Proposed Model" by Assistant Professor Dr. Sooksan Kantabutra and Suparak Suriyankietkaew, CMMU PhD student, proposes a model linking characteristics of leaderful organizations to sustainability performance. The broad assumption is that leaderful organization characteristics lead to better sustainability performance than others.

The second report entitled "Sustainable Leadership in a Non-profit Organization" by Pisanu Vimolratana, CMMU PhD student, and Professor Gayle C. Avery of Macquarie University in Sydney. This study found relationships between six sustainable leadership practices and five performance outcomes in an Australian not-for-profit organization. An exception was found between environmental responsibility and the organizational outcome of brand and reputation.  

The third report entitled "Predicting Corporate Sustainability: A Thai Approach" by Assistant Professor Dr. Sooksan Kantabutra and Thomas Siebenhüner, a CMMU fulltime, fast-track student and Leadership Research Group Fellow, discusses findings of a study that attempts to identify corporate sustainability indicators, according to H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s philosophy of Sufficiency Economy.  Findings indicate that “perseverance” is the direct predictor of firm’s capacity to remain competitive, to endure crises and to maintain a market leadership.
