CMMU Faculty and Staff Presented their Papers in Osaka, Japan

Asst. Prof. Dr. Brian Hunt, Assistant Dean QA and Chatchai Chatpinyakoop, Deputy Head of Research,  separately presented papers at the 5th Asian Conference on Education (ACE 2013) in Osaka, Japan between 23-27 October 2013.

Dr. Hunt presented a paper entitled "Culturally-Sensitive Teaching: Teachers' Strategies for Shifting their Pedagogic Paradigms." Co-authored with Dr. Astrid Kainzbauer, Assistant Dean, International Relations, this paper describes and discusses how teachers develop cultural sensitivity and thereby shift their classroom pedagogies towards more effective teaching. Funding for this research was provided by the CMMU faculty research  fund.

Chatchai presented his paper entitled: "Employing Computer Simulation to Problem Based Learning in Understanding Organizational Change”. This paper was co-authored by Awiruth Keshagupta, a CMMU alumnus who is now studying for his doctoral degree at Dhurakij Pundit University. This paper is based on a CMMU Consulting Practice utilizing PBL and computer simulation in order to develop change management skills for students.

ACE2013 was hosted by the International Academic Forum (IAFOR) in collaboration with: Waseda University (Japan), Birkbeck College of the University of London (UK), The National Institute of Education (Singapore), The National University of Taiwan (Taiwan), Lincoln University (UK), Hong Kong Institute of Education (Hong Kong), the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), (USA) and Auburn University (USA).
