CMMU hosted the CLSG International Conference

From 12-14 November 2013, the College of Management Mahidol University (CMMU) organized and hosted the second CLSG-TBS International Conference on Consumer Research and Marketing: Frontiers of Theory, Method and Practice. This conference is part of an on-going series of conferences organized in collaboration with our partner Taylor's University, Malaysia. Taylor’s University hosted the 2012 conference at their campus in Kuala Lumpur. CMMU was honored to welcome Professor George P. Moschis and Professor Russell Belk as keynote speakers. Professor Moschis is Alfred Bernhardt Research Professor of Marketing at Georgia State University and the founding director of the Center for Mature Consumer Studies (CMCS). Professor Moschis has held a position as visiting faculty at CMMU. Professor Russell Belk holds the Kraft Foods Canada Chair in Marketing at the Schulich School of Business at York University, Toronto.

Professor Moschis gave a keynote address entitled: Do you know how old you are? How your body and soul reveal your real age. The title of Professor Belk’s keynote address was: The Extended Self in a Digital World. Professor Belk also conducted a doctoral workshop on the topic Qualitative and Visual Consumer Market Research.

Conference delegates were from seven countries. Presenters addressed various topics within the conference themes of consumer market research. Delivered papers were conceptual or empirical, and expressed great diversity, from decision science, neuroscience, psychology, retailing and green marketing. The 2014 conference in this series will be hosted by Sookmyung University in Seoul, Korea in mid May, 2014.
