CMMU AND TSDF ORGANIZE SUFFICIENCY ECONOMY BUSINESS SEMINAR

On January 21, 2015, CMMU and Thailand Sustainable Development Foundation have co-organized a seminar at the Centara Grand at Central World to disseminate a decade of collective research findings on Sufficiency Economy businesses, in conjunction with the Royal Development Projects Board, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Office of SME Promotion, and the Thai Industrial Standards Institute. 


At the seminar, His Excellency Dr. Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, chairman of Thailand Sustainable Development Institute, gave an opening speech, followed by a speech by Professor Gayle C. Avery of Australia’s Macquarie University and Institute for Sustainable Leadership to introduce the keynote speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sooksan Kantabutra.


The keynote speech introduced Sufficiency Economy business indicators and policy implications, followed by a panel discussion on Sufficiency Economy business practices with such panelists as Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornkasem Kantamara, Asst. Prof. Dr. Prattana Punnakitikashem, Asst. Prof. Dr. Phallapa Petison and Asst. Prof. Dr. Parisa Rungruang.



The seminar ended with a closing speech by Dr. Ajva Taulananda, honorary chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chairman of the Charoen Pokphand Group.  It was attended by over a hundred of high-ranking government officers who work in the development area, business executives, media personnel and academics.
