TSDF and CMMU jointly celebrated the opening of the Center for Research on Sustainable Leadership (CRSL)

Thailand Sustainable Development Foundation (TSDF) and College of Management, Mahidol University (CMMU) jointly celebrated the opening of the Center for Research on Sustainable Leadership (CRSL) on Wednesday 21 February 2018 at College of Management, Mahidol University. The objectives of CRSL is to research the application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) of the late King Rama IX and disseminate findings to students, academics and the general public. This conforms to the global trend towards UN Sustainable Development Goals. CRSL has also launched a Ph.D. in Sustainable Leadership, the first doctoral program in this discipline in Thailand. The doctoral program aims to develop researchers on management for sustainability on par with other leading international universities.

Prof. Philip Hallinger, TSDF Chair Professor of Leadership, and program director of Ph.D. in Sustainable Leadership, presented his keynote speech on “Placing Sufficiency Thinking within Global Trends in Sustainable Development.”CRSL will utilize the SEP principles to achieve the concrete outcomes and further disseminate the principles to generate the balance in society, culture, environment and economy as well as emphasize leadership traits of virtue, sufficiency mindset, sufficiency balanced outcomes and self-immunity.

Mrs. Jirawan Boonperm, TSDF Executive Member, Dr. Prasarn Triratvorakul, TSDF Executive Member, Dr. Duangporn Arbhasil, Dean of College of Management, Mahidol University, Assoc. Prof. Chuthamanee Suthisisang, Acting Vice President for Policy and Planning, Mahidol University and Assoc. Prof. Sooksan Kantabutra, Deputy Dean of Research, College of Management presided with the distinguished guests in the opening ceremony.
